ABOUT US !
SPREADING THE HOLY NAME
It is our first and foremost objective to inspire people to chant the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra. Chanting the holy name is the Yuga-dharma; and Supreme Lord Sri Krishna descended as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to inaugurate this dharma and propagate the Sankirtana Movement. He desired that the entire world be inundated with the chanting of the holy name. Srila Prabhupada the founder-acharya of ISKCON accepted this as the mission of his life and established the world-wide Hare Krishna Movement to spread the holy names. Following in his footsteps, we, the disciples of Srila Prabhupada, have initiated various programs like Chanters Club, Harinam Festival, Hare Krishna Flash Mobs, etc., to spread the holy names and inspire as many people as possible to chant the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra.
PRASADAM DISTRIBUTION
ISKCON KALYAN-DOMBIVLI’s prasadam distribution is a spiritual and charitable activity centered around serving sanctified vegetarian food that has been offered to Lord Krishna. The food, once offered through devotional prayers, becomes prasadam—meaning “mercy”—and is believed to carry spiritual blessings. ISKCON temples distribute prasadam daily to visitors, especially after kirtans and aartis, and on special occasions and festivals like Janmashtami or Ratha Yatra, when hundreds are served.
Prasadam distribution in ISKCON is not only an act of service but also a way to share spiritual consciousness, break social barriers, and promote compassion and equality through food.
DEITY WORSHIP AND FESTIVALS
Here deity worship is a central part of its spiritual practice, where deities of Lord Krishna, Radha, and other forms like Lord Jagannath, Gaura-Nitai, and Lord Rama are worshipped with great devotion. The deities are not seen as idols but as living manifestations of the Lord, and they are cared for with daily offerings, aartis, decorations, and rituals including bathing, dressing, and feeding. The worship is performed according to strict Vedic guidelines and is accompanied by devotional chanting and prayers.
Festivals in ISKCON KALYAN-DOMBIVLI are celebrated with enthusiasm, music, and spiritual gatherings. Major events like Janmashtami (Krishna’s appearance), Gaura Purnima (appearance of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu), and Ratha Yatra (chariot festival) are marked by elaborate deity processions, kirtan, dramas, discourses, and large-scale prasadam distribution. These celebrations are not only spiritual but also cultural, drawing thousands of devotees and newcomers alike, and serve as a joyful means of spreading Krishna consciousness to the world.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna is present in the Deity form. By serving Him, we can purify ourselves from material contamination. By engaging all our senses in directly serving Him, we can get rid of our non-devotional tendencies. It also brings steadiness to our materially agitated mind.

BOOK DISTRIBUTION
For us book distribution is a key outreach activity focused on sharing the teachings of Krishna consciousness through spiritual literature, especially the books translated and written by ISKCON’s founder, Srila Prabhupada. These include the Bhagavad-gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, and many other texts that explain Vedic philosophy, devotion, and the path of bhakti-yoga. Devotees go out to public places like streets, markets, schools, and festivals to personally share these books with people, often engaging in heartfelt conversations. It is considered a powerful form of service and compassion, as distributing spiritual knowledge helps awaken others to their true spiritual identity. ISKCON KALYAN-DOMBIVLI sees book distribution not just as spreading information, but as a sacred mission to transform lives and connect souls with Krishna.
NAGAR SANKIRTAN
In our temple, we also have Nagar Sankirtan which is the public chanting of the holy names of Krishna, especially the Hare Krishna maha-mantra
“HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE”
in streets, parks, or marketplaces. It is a joyful and spiritually powerful practice that spreads divine sound vibrations and attracts people through music, rhythm, and devotion. Devotees sing, play instruments like mridanga and kartals, and dance together while moving through public areas, inviting everyone to join or simply hear the holy names. Nagar Sankirtan is both a form of worship and outreach, inspired by the teachings of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who emphasized chanting as the most effective means of spiritual realization in this age. Through this vibrant practice, ISKCON KALYAN-DOMBIVLI brings spiritual awareness to the community and shares the bliss of Krishna consciousness with all.
